With access to a large library of spatial data and by using the latest in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software SAMRIC provides mapping, data management, application design, custom development, online web maps, spatial project advice and help desk support. SAMRIC provides service to the Riverland, Murraylands and Fleurieu region and has offices in Berri and Murray Bridge.

"The River Murray-South East NatureLink encompasses the River Murray, the Lower Lakes, the Coorong and the interlinking watercourses of south eastern South Australia. Outstanding natural features and a rich diversity of plants and animals are found here. The unique array of interrelated aquatic environments are a fundamental feature and a key focus for this NatureLink Plan."

SAMRIC supports the River Murray-South East NatureLink program by providing data management services to the Department for Environment and Natural Resources.

Community Weed Mapping
At both the State and regional level, weeds are a key threat to biodiversity values and have significant economic and social costs. The annual economic cost of weeds in SA is at least $800m per annum excluding ecological and social costs. 


SAMRIC
 is currently working with the Department for Water Land and Biodiversity Conservation (DWLBC), the South Australian Murray-Darling Basin NRM Board (SA MDBNRM Board) and the Riverland Local Action Planning (LAP) groups to help further educate volunteers and landholders about weed identification, control and mapping.
